The Tiniest Sign of Progress

I sat down today to work on a task that I typically find difficult, and in the tiniest sign of progress, it was considerably easier than usual.

What did I do differently today?

I started the task by looking at similar work produced by other people.

Such a small thing.

But in doing so, I reset the impossibly high bar of my perfectionist tendencies. I became clear on what was truly required, instead of allowing my work to be guided by a hazy sense of how it should be.
