Intrapreneur

I’d like to be better at being entrepreneurial in my corporate job.

The term for this is being an “intrapreneur,” apparently.

But the pressures of a corporate environment aren’t the same as the pressures of an entrepreneurial venture. The incentives are completely different, too.

When you’re in business for yourself, you can try, fail, pivot, regroup. There’s less acceptance of failure in a corporate environment, and so there’s often less experimentation, too.

Still, I think it’s absolutely essential that I formulate potential solutions for the challenges facing our business.

It’s the entire reason I’m there. Plus, I believe that good ideas have their own velocity.
