Whose Job Is It, Anyway?

Often, during a stressful situation, someone will try to put the onus of responsibility on you, even when it is actually their responsibility.

Because most normal people tend to hate awkward situations, our first impulse is to take on whatever tasks may have been improperly assigned to us.

But when you take a breath, and take a step back, you’re able to see this as a manipulative move on the part of someone trying to shirk their responsibility.

The thing is, their cavalier, can’t-be-bothered attitude can be mirrored right back to them.

There’s nothing stopping you from showing them the same lack of concern that they’re showing to you.
