Gin Rummy

I picked up the card game gin rummy, and forced the game on those around me.

We enjoy the occasional poker night, the brash showmanship of wagering on each hand.

But there’s something nice about a slow game of gin rummy, where the goal is to group off your cards into “melds” of three or more.

I used to play it with my grandmother, and I remember the ease of passing time playing cards.

Not scrolling through nonsense on a tiny screen.

Not entirely bored, but much less occupied than modern life often affords.
