Making Your Own Opportunities

I tend to be a technology skeptic, but I do believe that this moment offers so many free or low-cost tools for making your own “things.”

Those “things” can be websites, podcasts, games, anything.

What used to be capital-intensive industries with wide start-up cost moats are now easy-to-pursue hobbies that most people can afford.

If no one else will give you an opportunity, this contemporary paradigm offers the ultimate cheat code: you can just go on and do it yourself.

Before you know it, those “things” or “hobbies” that became “projects” will age into “experience.” Together, they become a “body of work.”

And there you go, you’ve made your own opportunities.
